Affiliate Marketing Tip - Is Getting High Commission All That Important?

Is getting high commission the ultimate goal of affiliate marketing? Do you use it as the quality benchmark for an affiliate program? Well that's what most marketers do especially new marketers who firmly believe promoting such programs will earn them good income. But there could be more to this than you'll ever know.
Finding Good Products
Many new marketers have difficulty finding the right affiliate products. You always have to spare a thought for the customer who is looking out for good and useful products. So in a nutshell a good product is one that provides the best value for your customers or prospects seeking out solutions to their difficulty.
Is High Commission Good
While providing good value to your customers is important, you should also pay attention to the amount of commission you can make when you make an affiliate sale. Always weigh the cost of promoting this product including the money you have to use to promote it. So to use an example if you spend $20 to get your first affiliate sale which gives you a commission of only $5, you may want to re-think what is wrong or decide not to promote this product.
Knowing which products convert better and which ones are bringing you money is very important for your success.
The Testing Game
Different marketers use different strategies to promote their affiliate marketing products as there is never a best practice to get your affiliate sales. There are people who prefer to promote only low cost products even if the commission is small if there is huge demand for them. There are others who only sell high end products that cost around five hundred dollars each. They rationalize that though harder to sell the commission earned more than makes up for the lower sales volume. But it is essential to always test out the affiliate offers to find out which ones are suitable for you.
