If you're new to internet marketing or you're not quite sure what Private Label Rights products are, basically you can buy them from the original author / creator or a PLR content distributor and then treat that product as if you had created it yourself. With 'unrestricted' private label rights you can edit, delete or add to the content, sell, resell, grant resale rights or private label rights. You are now effectively the creator and author of the product and you haven't even written or created anything yourself. Sounds perfect? Well yes it does, but of course nothing in life is that easy or we'd all be doing it and making money.
Having said that, it's obvious that high quality PLR products are still incredibly valuable both for the information contained within them and maybe more importantly, for the time you save in carrying out all the research needed and the time spent to actually write or create your own. When you buy private label rights, you have complete ownership and control over the product which, breaking it down to its money-making potential, means that within a relatively short period of time you could have a complete 'business-in-a-box' by putting some effort in to improving on the original and making it different to everybody else's.
You could use them 'as-is' straight out of the box but that really is not a method I would recommend at all as you will undoubtedly have the exact same package as hundreds, if not thousands of other people and as humans are inherently lazy, this is where most people fall down and fail to make a decent profit from PLR. Yes, it involves some work but if you intend to be successful with private label rights, you MUST change and add real value to the original content and even the supplied graphics to really make it your own unique product. If you're not prepared to put in some effort then you will be amongst the masses of duplicate content PLR resellers and that's a hard way to make money, let alone a living.
The possibilities of achieving the most potential from PLR products are only limited by your own imagination when you have good quality content to work with and if you've been online for any period of time you may have collected either just a few, maybe hundreds or even thousands of PLR products which are probably just taking up space on your hard drive. Most people don't do anything with them and the main reason for that is that they don't really know how to derive the most profit from them by compiling them in a professional manner and then marketing them in the right way.
To recap, here are just some of the things you can do with private label rights material:
1. Sell them as-is on their own mini-site or your own website (not recommended)
2. Split the material into smaller parts, make unique and sell or give away as short reports

5. Amend and add to the content with value-add text, audios or video and so create your own unique product or hard-copy coaching course to sell from your website.

This will allow you to sell your compiled package for a much higher price than you would have otherwise and create another revenue stream for a minimal amount of effort.
As you can see, the "make unique" statement appears many times above because that is the key to making this work as a business. There are many different ways to make money from PLR products but a lot of people don't know where to start and need a step-by-step explanation of what is needed to be successful in this area of internet marketing. There are essentially six phases to achieving success with your PLR content:
Phase 1 - Research, Development & Preparation
Carry out your keyword and market research to see if there's a market to sell to in the first place and narrow down your target market. No good creating a brilliant product that no-one wants to buy, right? By doing this crucial step, you'll also start to build the solid foundations for your internet marketing business.
Phase 2 - Content Creation
Create high-quality content to present to your target market. This means making your PLR product your own by adding valuable information, tips, etc., removing out-of-date and incorrect content, creating or have created your own graphics, adding audio and video content and so on. Use the original PLR as a starting point but make it into a product that is bang up to date and something that you would want to buy yourself.
Phase 3 - Website Construction
Begin building your website and working on your sales process like who your payment processor will be, how the product will be delivered, how you're going to handle support issues, etc. If you've never built a website before then you can outsource it but my advice is to learn that new skill or at least get an understanding of how it's done so you're not completely in the dark when you're talking to your web designer.
Phase 4 - Review Your Sales Process
Review your entire marketing and sales processes to make sure that they are all foolproof and that all your bases are covered before your product goes on sale. Make a test sale so you are 100% sure that everything is working as it should.
Phase 5 - Start Marketing
Now focus on marketing your product using several different methods to drive traffic to your site on autopilot. These include article marketing, organic traffic, press releases, blogs, forums and so on.
Phase 6 and beyond - Advanced strategies
This is where you can take your business to the next level using advanced strategies such as proper SEO techniques, social networks, social bookmarking using Twitter, Facebook and so on to keep it going'. There should be no turning back now as you follow your path to success.
